The Chicago marathon was amazing. A dream come true and full of life and great people cheering. I followed a 4 hour pacer and I was able to stay with him until mile 20. I felt great for at least 18 miles and then I started to get very tired, but I still stayed on pace for a couple more miles. Between mile 20 and 21 I lost the pacer and it was getting very hot, so that really slowed me down. I walked a little bit at every water station, but made myself keep running until the end. My #1 goal was to break 4 hours and my backup goal was to finish in less that 4:10. I finished in 4:06, which wasn't too bad. I enjoyed my accomplishment for the next couple of weeks, but now I am starting to think when and where I will run my next marathon. My next goal is definitely to break 4 hours.
